This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students that will be taking part in this project are from low income households presenting with multiple cultures and backgrounds to offer a great collection of personalities and abilities. It is such a joy teaching and being around individuals that have such a great deal of passion for learning. Each and every day is a learning experience not for just them but for me too. You should see as their eyes light up with each new experience the students encounter in the classroom.

My Project

Students need to be able to express themselves in a variety of ways. Students will be creating posters to make difficult concepts easier to grasp. They will be transferring their knowledge on easel pads to present to the entire population of high school students so that they can reflect on it throughout the year. Many students learn best when they can see an idea through pictures and graphics. Drawing models and stating facts about those diagrams serve as organizing tools allowing for the memorizing of facts and terminology. Students work best when there are many different access points to material and this is just one way to go about doing it.
