Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach at a High School and my kids are simply amazing. They are connection to the real world. The diversity and culture that these students brings into these classroom is breathtaking. I always say that my students teach me, as I teach them. They have really went above and beyond to show me how to teach students at every level. Although there are different challenges everyday, we have learned how to cope with them as a team. Team work makes the dream works.
My Project
When our students read they create a poster based on the book they read. These posters help engage other students in their learning as well enhances the various ways a student learns. To create these posters we are asking for chart paper, markers, glue, staple gun, and tape.
Recently we created posters that showcased each grade level book that was read and various quotes from these books.
My students stay after school and create these posters which help them in various ways. One student said that staying after school keeps him out of trouble and is his mediation for when he feels down.
