My students need poster supplies, including glue dots, laminating pouches, and scissor paper edgers, to create special topic posters to educate not only themselves but other students in different high school vocational programs.
Simple projects can help students to learn a special topic. Posters help the students find important information about a subject and allow them to create around it. This helps them remember what is important about that topic.
My class is a high school vocational program that teaches seniors how to become Certified Nursing assistants.
We follow the guidelines set by the Illinois Department of Public Health and at the end of the school year, my students are able to sit for the state exam to become certified nursing assistants. They are able to leave high school with the start of a career!
My Project
My students need poster supplies, including glue dots, laminating pouches, and scissor paper edgers. The supplies that I am requesting will help my students create educational posters for special topics like elder abuse. We will create posters and display them in the hall so other programs can read them. We will also use our posters to present to other programs such as law enforcement about mental illness and elder abuse.
I feel by allowing the students to be creative with special topics, it allows them to learn more.
They have to research the information and create something educational. They not only are students but become educators themselves as they create the posters to be displayed.
