Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are an energetic and diverse group of fourth graders. Students in both of my ELA classes are eager to participate in a variety of activities utilizing multi-purpose, high impact teaching tools.
My goal is to incorporate a variety of classroom basics to teach my students how to organize, synthesize, and exercise higher order thinking.
These simple classroom tools will catapult my students' learning all across the English/Language Arts curriculum and meet the ever changing needs of my phenomenal 4th grade students.
My Project
All students learn differently. I need to adapt my teaching style to meet the needs of all my students. Gone are the days of typical note taking. Students need to be presented with information in an interactive and colorful way to assist them in the acquisition of numerous ELA skills.
The use of Post-It notes will allow me to teach students how to brainstorm, take interactive notes, be active readers, organize ideas and receive teacher feedback.
My students will benefit greatly from the use of these basic classroom tools. These are skills they will take with them to middle school, high school, and beyond.
