Post Covid: High School Students / Online Classes & Milestones
Help me give my students a equal opportunity to succeed in their education. Headphones, wireless mice and healthy snacks will allow our students, in unfortunate situations, reach vast milestones without worrying about basic necessities.
Our classroom consist of 9th-12th graders negatively affected by COVID taking online courses. These online courses are a way to catch up with credits in order to graduate on time. These courses include core classes, electives, and job preparation (ex. CNA classes).
Some of our students require special accommodations when taking a course online verses in a classroom.
Things like headphones and mice allow these students to participate in a comfortable way.
Our goal is to see every one of our students gain independent and critical thinking strategies, as well as becoming
proficient in their technology skills, necessary for future careers.
My Project
We have the blessing of working with 9th-12th graders, taking all online courses for every subject imaginable. Our students include those with IEPS, English language learners, and other at-home barriers that often prevent them from reaching the same milestones as other students in their class.
The requested headphones and wireless mice will be great tools for making computer work more accessible to our students who need extra assistance.
The snacks are for students, who for whatever reason, were not able to eat before school. I am also requesting a "phone jail" AKA a Classroom Pocket Chart Organizer so we can eliminate those unwanted distractions in a non-invasive way!
