This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
My students are beyond thrilled to be back to face to face learning. However, that does come with some limitations with the presence of Covid. Our class has had to adjust to accommodate so that all students are comfortable, healthy and safe.
We plan to bring more life to our classroom by going outdoors more!
Students can spread out and interact with one another in a safe way. We can re-enact historical events, speeches and develop our own take on historical characters. all in the fresh air & sunshine. The supplies from this project will allow my students to safely keep their vaccine cards in the event they need to present them at school events or throughout our community. It will also provide my students with sunscreen so when we are outdoors, they can protect their skin from the harsh UV rays of the sun. Finally, it will also provide students with much needed ponchos. These are used not only for days for when we go outdoors & it rains but can also be essential for the students who walk to school daily and are in need of protection from the rain.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
