My students need more POSITIVITY in their school! I'm calling this the "Positivity Project" where the school walls will be decorated with positive and encouraging quotes to improve students' self esteem.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am an Elementary Computer Technology teacher in a low income (50% Free/Reduced Lunch) district. Our students are a very diverse and unique group of Kindergarten though rd6th graders. Each have a variety of strengths and needs as 25% of our students require Specially Designed Instruction.
This POSITIVITY PROJECT will provide our school with positive and encouraging phrases throughout the hallways of our school.
Many of our hallways and stairwells are plain white.
Giving them a boost of color with positive affirmations is just what our students need!
I truly believe that this project will encourage student's attitude, behavior and social-emotional learning. If students have a positive attitude and feel good about themselves, bullying will not take place.
My Project
Many of our students may not always see positive attitudes at home. A child's self esteem can suffer. Our goal is to encourage positivity by placing encouraging words and quotes in the school hallways and stairwells.
This project will boost student motivation and provide students with the encouragement needed to make good choices throughout the day.
Putting quotes on the wall may seem like a simple task, but we need materials. These are materials that our school cannot afford. Teachers will collaborate on quotes to use for each hallway, and the Cricut machine will cut the quotes in permanent vinyl to attach to the walls.
