Many call our students the "Children of the Corn" because our school is found in the back of the city surrounded by cornfields. Our students have true GRIT meaning our school and students have a climate and culture of try hard and do your best. We push them to keep trying even if it seems difficult and to help others. We also have a large population of students with disabilities in my grade this year and they need something to aid them in being successful so that they can reach their true potential.
My Project
In teaching we are always trying to get across the content and knowledge to make our students "A Little Smarter Every Day" as my amazing principal says. However, sometimes we are so busy focusing on the bad behaviors that the students who are excelling and doing all the right things get forgotten.
These pencils will be motivational reminders to my students who are doing the right thing and being amazing, to KEEP BEING AWESOME!
It is the little things that keep pushing our students forward and making sure that they notice that we are noticing. I want them to continue to learn and be productive citizens in our society and keeping it Positive is the way to make that happen.
