This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
This project will add a treasure box with prizes for student to earn for our classroom. My students love receiving recognition for their focused learning, but I would like to avoid giving candy as a reward. In this project I have included prizes such as pencils, pencil sharpeners, stress toys, and cute animals. I hope this will help with reinforcing good behavior at school.
My students missed a year and a half of in-person socialization opportunities and are having difficulties with solving miscommunications peacefully, sharing, taking turns, and staying on task with their work.
I hope this classroom treasure box will bring a positive aspect to developing their social skills.
