Help me give my students a RODECaster Pro Podcast Production Studio to discuss STEM topics and current events, allowing students the ability to share their ideas with other schools.
Our students are culturally diverse and represent many countries. The teachers on our campus work hard to give students many unique educational experiences, to inspire students to share their viewpoints.
My fifth graders have numerous opportunities to work with robotics and STEM challenges, and we are always looking for ways to meet the needs of our English language learners.
The world is changing so fast and education needs to keep up with these changes. Our highly qualified Cinema and Arts Club is leading this movement. They have already made a professional movie using student voice, incorporating the many languages spoken on our campus. Students have mastered complicated lighting equipment, and camera and sound settings.
Our fifth graders are highly motivated, extremely respectful towards one another, and work well in cooperative groups.
My Project
We do not have the ability to teach our students the art of mixing sound due to having no available equipment. The RODECaster Podcast Studio will help us reach this goal.
Allowing our students a podcast center enriches their educational experiences because they will deepen their learning by generating new thoughts and directions of inquiry.
In our cinema club, where I co-facilitate, students will lead the way to start podcasting in our classrooms. They already have a proven track record of sharing their skills with their classmates during the school day. Cinema club students have taught their classmates script writing, camera angles, and editing.
With a podcast mixer, our students will now be able to learn sound production, and most importantly, use their voices to discuss a vast array of science, STEM, and current event topics. We know that our students learn best by sharing and discussing ideas. Allowing students the time to research subjects and discuss and share their findings will help them deepen their learning.
After our first initial podcast, we will use our representatives to facilitate podcast production in my fifth grade classes and partner classes. Hurricane Harvey and an additional flooding event on our campus, due to a broken pipe, initially held us back. We are now ready to move forward and become a leader in elementary podcasts.
