Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are thoughtful, caring, and energetic! They love attending school and they come to school ready to learn! Although many of my students come from low, socio- economic environments, they come to school excited, and full of enthusiasm for another learning experience.

My students have a passion for learning, even in the face of adversities and challenges!

My school is a Title I school with a large population of homelessness and families in transition. Our students thrive on engaging learning opportunities.

My Project

These materials will make a difference in my student’s learning because students at Sabal Palm Elementary School knows that what they do matter and that their good behavior will be rewarded.

Tier 1 of our school-wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) Model aims to increase desired student behavior and decrease undesired behaviors with tokens(decision dollars).

One of our strategies that get our classrooms positive behavior ready is PBIS Tier 1 which utilizes a Token Economy. Decision Dollars are rewarded when students make good choices. Students are allowed to trade in their Decision Dollars at the Paw Shop at the end of every grading period.
