Help me give my students a Positive Behavior Intervention Support classroom that they enjoy and engage in as a consequence for model behaviors displayed throughout the week showing support of self-awareness, and responsible decision making.

The middle school students I serve are a shining example of perseverance. They have continued to put all anxiety aside to attend school daily. We come together 5 days a week and accomplish quality teaching and learning. These positive behaviors should not be ignored but encouraged and rewarded. Students request a relaxing safe space, which is what I would like to provide in the classroom to reward their hard work throughout the week.
Recently, the school implemented a school wide PBIS (positive behavior intervention support) reward system.
This program will be an extrinsic motivational tool to encourage students to be mindful of their behaviors. Studies have shown that implementing such systems can deter and nearly eliminate disciplinary referrals. Which has been a growing concern in our school system.
A hinderance to full implementation of the program is funding to supply rewards students deem appealing. I am requesting funds to purchase gift cards, snacks and other tween favored items, games, and a highly requested VR system students can use to participate in during Fun Friday. The students have requested an inside fully stocked relaxation station in exchange for academic achievement, and positive behavior.
A Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) Classroom will allow students to implement the skills learned from Casel's Framework for Social Emotional Learning. Students will benefit from mindfulness techniques to empower them to change their families, school, and community through self-awareness and responsible decision making. The classroom is a space the students design to provide a consequence they desire for the actions they have displayed. This space is earned and purchased by the students through the use of PBIS points. The VR headset will allow students to take virtual field trips, play games, and escape from the stress, pressure, and anxiety produced from the everyday responsibilities at school and home, as well as the strict procedures necessary to ensure all Covid-19 safety restrictions and protocols are implemented daily.
