Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The PASS (Positive Approach To Student Success) program is designed to provide support for students who are identified as eligible for Special Education Services because they are experiencing significant emotional and behavioral difficulties. It is NOT focused on discipline, but on the teaching, coaching, and modeling of replacement behaviors in order to move students toward independence and self-monitoring.
I have created this project for two reasons:
FIRST, to aid in the implementation and organization of the program here at Reaves and SECOND (with more emphasis on) to provide multiple student-specific incentives for positive choices made on a day-to-day basis. My Project
We are super excited to be implementing PASS (Positive Approach To Student Success) at RES this year. PASS focuses on students who qualify for Special Education services due to emotional disabilities. Negative behaviors are addressed by teaching, modeling, and implementing new replacement behaviors. The goal of teaching replacement behaviors is to guide students toward self-monitoring in the classroom and in day-to-day life. I have chosen some child-specific rewards like markers, pens, and crafts to help our students celebrate every small victory along the way to becoming the very best version of themselves.
