My Students

My students are incredible! From Kindergarten to 6th Grade, the students at my school work hard and always strive to perform to the best of their abilities. Whether its taking standardized tests or performing in a grade-level program, they are cheerful, outgoing, and optimistic.

As global citizens, my students are always finding ways to make learning meaningful in a "big-picture" kind of way.

Through connecting their schoolwork to their daily experiences, they are developing skills that will help them not only during their academic years, but throughout their lives.

My Project

We are having a Portuguese Day to celebrate the culture and heritage of the Portuguese language. We will have games from Brazil, demonstrations of Capoeira, a food-truck rally, and a visit from the DrumBus! All of these activities will help the students deepen their understanding of the Portuguese language by engaging with the cultures where it is spoken.

Music is an essential aspect of culture.

The main event of our Portuguese celebration will be a visit from the DrumBus. Students will be able to have a musical experience with a variety of percussion instruments in a fun and interactive environment. Throughout the day each grade-level will spend time with members of the DrumBus team, experiencing drumming as an essential aspect of Portuguese musical expression.
