I teach a great group of third grade students who come from middle to low income families and many take a bus into our area from neighborhoods with a high poverty level.
My students are active in so many areas such as technology and art. I need supplies to help facilitate their talents in our classroom. Since we don't have enough supplies and materials we don't get as many opportunities to partake in these activities like I wish they could.
I need 1 storage bin to keep portfolios on each student to show growth and progress throughout the year. My students need colored pencils, markers, and an ink pad to use in their art center. My students need headphones to listen to activities without interrupting other lessons going on in class. I need timers to conduct fluency checks each week with each student.The art supplies like markers, colored pencils, and ink pads will make sure my students have outlets for other areas in school that make them feel confident about themselves. The headphones are a great way to let students complete activities on the computer without disturbing other students and helping keep out outside noise that could distract them.
You will make it possible for my classroom to be an environment not only filled with learning, but filled with positive experiences in other important areas like art and technology.
