My Students
I serve students with disabilities that come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Last year, I served grades 3-5. This year, I serve grades k-2. Each year, the grade level may change, but my role stays the same. I provide extra help and interventions to close the learning gap for my students so they may have a more successful learning experience. I travel from classroom to classroom throughout the school day serving these students in reading and math. I need portable technology!
My Project
I see students with special needs throughout the school day in a small group setting. It would make a world of difference to have a Dell Inspiron laptop in which my students could receive instruction and practice through educational videos and websites. This would also provide a portable and convenient place to keep the progress that I monitor in real time for each student throughout the school day. A laptop would also provide students with an opportunity to work independently within the small group setting. Portable technology in our small group will setting also allow me to provide instruction much more effectively.
