Help me give my students these Geyser Portable Robotics Table Topper for our EV3 robots. Because we are now pushing into classrooms during the pandemic, having portable mats is essential for students to build and to test robots.
My middle school students are caring, curious, creative, and sometimes comedians. We are not an affluent community. Covid has brought additional deeper financial hardships to our families, community, and as a result, our school budget. Despite the real-life challenges many are facing daily, my students are still involved in school life, sports, and clubs. That being said, we are currently in a hybrid model due to the current increased Covid cases. My students are in pods and teachers push into classes to keep movement in hallways at minimum. It is so important for our students to have the best possible in-school experience; we are truly loving being together.
My students are working on developing skills and mindsets that will help them to be successful in life, to be ready to take on whatever life throws their way.
My Project
Because teachers are pushing into classrooms since the onset of the pandemic, we have been unable to use our robotics equipment. We have learned how to be face to face for learning, tolerate face masks, sanitize, wash our hands, and share class resources safely. STEM Robotics projects have not been an option yet. As a technology teacher with new rolling carts, I can now roll 3D printers into classrooms for design process 3D instruction.
I am excited that with the amazing portable Geyer instructional mats, students will be able to resume LEGO EV3 robotics building and coding.
These mats will give ample space for pairs of students at each end of the mat, to build and to test their algorithms and to safely collaborate within their team.
