Our school is very good at a few things and the students are very lucky for that. We are an arts integrated school and we have many opportunities for students to get involved in athletics as well. But one place where we need some help is with our CTE program. CTE stands for career and technical education and while many people think of it as "shop class", it can be so much more than that!
My students come from a wide range of backgrounds and so I want their CTE program to expose them to a wide range of skills and career options.
Many students feel like they are limited in their post high school options. Some think that a college degree is out of their reach and some think that attending 4 year college is their *only* option. But with a full sequence of CTE courses to choose from, they'll have their eyes opened to new opportunities!
My Project
Our classroom is using solar panels to supply part of the energy we use throughout the day. To store the energy, we need power supplies like the ones we are requesting in this project.
Every little bit counts when it comes to responsible energy use.
We are committed to taking steps - even small ones - towards a renewable future. The cables that we are requesting along with the power supplies will allow students to charge their phones using the solar power we have collected. We know this will work because we have already been doing it for about two years. But now we are looking to expand the effort!
