Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from the inner city and are economically disadvantaged. Also, we recently are victims of Hurricane Harvey. Many of our students lost everything due to the catastrophic floods. What makes my classroom so special is they get to take journeys to different places, meet heroes and historical people, and gain so much knowledge through literature.
Initially, reading was their last choice as a favorite subject.
However, by the end of the semester, the students have a change of heart and fall in love with reading. I always tell my students, readers are leaders and reading is the foundation to their academic success.
My Project
My students need a Lenovo - ThinkPad 14'Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i5 - 8GB Memory - 256GB for their reading and writing class. This would replace the old technology we currently have. We would use it for Myon, Imagine Learning, Scholastic New quick videos, and research. This would make a difference in my students' learning because they would have access to new modern technology.
In order to compete in the 21st century we need to give our scholars the necessary tools to meet todays demands.
I think the exposure to these kinds of laptops will improve their academic school lives to be successful.
