I am an elementary Inclusion Specialist for students in kindergarten and first grade. This means that I support students to be successful in the General Education classroom while still meeting their IEP goals. Even though the students I have the pleasure of working with have different disabilities that impact their reading, writing, math, social skills, and daily living skills they are all still able to learn, just in a different way.
My students do not let their disabilities keep them from learning and thriving.
My students with special needs are the most resilient group of kids that I have ever met.
My Project
The students that I directly work with often have difficulties staying motivated to complete their work so offering an incentive is exactly what they need to keep working. Slime, whistles, and pop-its are exactly what my students are interested in right now.
Encouraging my students to work by using incentives that they like will help them grow as a learner.
My students often have behaviors that keep them from succeeding in the classroom but with a tangible item they can work for, their behaviors will be decreased and their effort will increase.
