Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

This year I teach a wonderful and sweet group of second graders at a low income, Title I school. Most of my students are below proficient in Reading and Math and have a variety of learning needs that require differentiation and engaging activities. It is my job to meet all of their individual needs.

I want to see all of my students engaged and enthusiastic about learning and I think I have a great idea that will motivate my students to do so.

My goal is for all of my students to succeed this year in second grade. They all deserve the best chance of meeting their individual goals as well.

My Project

I am trying to find fun and new ways to help my students learn their spelling words along with their sight words. Sight words are crucial for students and their reading skills. Pop Its are the newest fidget toys and they are perfect for helping students learn their sight words and their spelling words. Along with these Pop Its, I am also asking for number Pop Its to help my students with skip counting.

My students desperately need help with their spelling and sight words and the more fun and engaging the method, the more they are likely to learn their words!
