Mrs. Smith from Abbeville SC is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a classroom subscription to BrainPOP.

My 5th grade social studies students attend a Title 1 rural elementary school in South Carolina. Many are on free or reduced lunch and can barely afford pencil and paper, much less the latest technology. My students enjoy being creative and actively engaged, and deserve the opportunity to learn.
My SC students come from a wide variety of backgrounds.
As with most classrooms, some have, and some do not. It is my job as their teacher to level their playing field so that they all have a chance to be successful. Through hands-on, exciting, engaging, and active lessons, all students in my 5th grade, rural classroom have the opportunity to learn together and grow in their understanding of our world. Technology is a big part of our world today. Through generous donations, I was able to purchase a Chromebook laptop for my classroom. It has changed the way I teach! It has opened up a whole new world of digital resources, such as BrainPOP, that will be very beneficial to my students' learning.
My classroom is in need of a subscription to a new tool to add to our technology tool box. BrainPOP is a great website that has fun and engaging animated educational videos from all content areas. It also has activities and games aligned to the standards. With BrainPOP, I would be able to show fun videos geared towards what they are learning in their classes to help bring understanding of complex issues, such as the War of Terrorism, 9/11, and The Holocaust. The site can also be accessed from home and the learning can continue well after school. In traditional, blended, and "flipped" learning settings, BrainPOP supports individual, team, and whole-class learning. At school and in informal learning environments, BrainPOP characters help introduce new topics and illustrate complex concepts, and allows users to tailor their assessments to meet all students' needs. I need this in my 5th grade classroom!
Help me POP some brains!
This subscription would really help build my students' background knowledge while having fun at the same time. Digital courseware and eBooks are the future of education. Please consider donating to help bring BrainPOP to my students. Even a donation of $1 will make a big difference!
