My Students

My classroom is an exciting place where students learn about the human condition, themselves, and society, in addition to studying literature and writing. We connect the works we read to the world around us, expanding our world views and understanding.

My students are built for awesome.

I encourage them to incorporate their interests and ideas to enhance the lessons for themselves and others. They are a culturally diverse and open-minded group of young leaders that will surely make the world a better place in the years to come!

My Project

I teach a unique and talented group of honor students in the Bronx. Having seen me read this novel and discuss it, it has been all my students want to read. They love the concept of having pop references intertwined with the science fiction/technology. As a class, we will read the novel, applying our knowledge of literary devices and analyzing the motivational factors (our grade focus) of the protagonist. Additionally, we will use this novel to have student driven discussions regarding events, themes, conflicts, and anything the class wishes to explore. This novel is high interest and written at a level I know will challenge my students to rise to the occasion.
