I teach swimming in this school, a place that you would describe as a school with a heart. Students exemplify this motto, and are eager to help each other in any endeavor.
The students here involve themselves in academic and athletic after-school programs.
Swimming is one of their most favorite sports.
The parents are totally integrated into the running and support of the students and faculty. As an example, parents run many fund-raisers, and supervise the district- provided bar-b-Q, Parents volunteer with face-painting and races. Parents are involved in helping every student to go to field trips, whether the have the entrance fee, or not.
Our swim team practices on a shoe-string. We compete against other schools and at least 60 kids try-out for our team. All are accepted, and we take turns in the water, learning the strokes, and various strategies to swim faster so that we can beat the other team.
Parents bring pizza and snacks to the meet, for the children to have after they compete.
We have a swim team party after each competition!
Our school has the slimmest of budgets, and a pool brush is not on that list. Please help us to ensure that our pool is the cleanest for our students' sake. We also need to have a storage box to keep these items off of the deck.
