My Students

I have a 3rd grade classroom filled with awesome readers and writers. I want my students to have books for their poetry and stories that they will be able to keep forever. I want them to be able to publish their writing in a real book to help them see themselves as real authors!

I have a very talented class of third graders!

They love to read and write. I want to help them expand their writing skills through poetry and narratives. We have a large school, almost 8oo students! There are eight sections of third grade, and I have twenty students in my class.

My Project

I would like to use the blank books for the students to do their final drafts of writing projects in. They will write and illustrate their work. Since the students will be in my room again next year, they will be able to continue in these books. At the end of 4th grade they will have a beautiful collection of poems and stories they have written, and I will have an excellent way to assess the students' growth in writing skills.

These books will help my students feel accomplished and proud of their writing.

My hope is that it will build their confidence as writers as they move on into middle school and high school.
