A goal of mine as an educator is for my students to love writing! I want them to enjoy writing and be able to express themselves in creative ways. The students in my classroom participate in Writer's Workshop every day. We have an upcoming poetry unit and we are in need of some basic supplies.
Our class consists of 21 eager second grade students who enjoy learning.
We are located in Omaha, Nebraska and are proud to be part of the Omaha Public Schools! My class consists of creative writers, but we are running short on some essential supplies for Writer's Workshop that may keep us from creating new poems. With an upcoming poetry unit in the works, we need paper, pencils, crayons, ink and labels to get us started. We will then celebrate the end of our unit with Poetry and Punch. Poetry and Punch is a celebration in which we invite our families in to our classroom to share our poems. In order to have our celebration, we need cups and punch for our guests.
My Project
My students will use the paper, pencils, and crayons during our Writer's Workshop to write poems. We will use the ink and labels to organize our materials. These essential materials are needed in order to write and create our poems. The cups and punch will be for our Poetry and Punch celebration at the conclusion of our unit.
Receiving these basic supplies will allow us to have the materials we need in order to write poems.
It will also allow us the have our Poetry and Punch end of the unit author's celebration with our families.
