Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is filled with amazing talent, enthusiasm and the drive to learn. Many of our students come from difficult socioeconomic backgrounds and many are riddled with laundry lists worth of adverse childhood reactions.
Our school strives to be a safe haven, to provide consistency and promote a caring and stable environment for everyone right down to our youngest scholars.
Despite whatever may be happening outside of the school, students come ready to give their all and face each day as a new challenge ready to be taken on.
My Project
We need detergent pods and dryer sheets to help support our scholars.
We are lucky enough to be able to have a washing machine and dryer on site which we have been utilizing to send our scholars home in clean clothing- but in a school of this size, the expense grows exponentially as more people are able to take advantage of the initiative.
Dryer sheets and laundry pods will allow us to take full advantage of the resources we already have and provide the absolute best for our students who come in prepared to give us their absolute best each day. Clean clothes will not only help our students feel better but it is imperative to maintaining a healthy school environment, our students would be eternally grateful.
