Podcasting 101

My students need to have an updated microphone system to aide in the production of podcasts.

My classroom includes a variety of students from our English Language Learners to our Gifted Students. They are eager to continue the podcasting projects we started at the beginning of the school year.

Recently we had a break in at our school. They stole a large amount of equipment including the podcasting equipment that we used to produce our shows. With the budget crunch we are unable to replace the equipment that was stolen. Our podcasts have been put on hold until we are able to replace the equipment. My ELL students and gifted students are missing out on valuable experiences in public speaking. I used the podcasting projects to help them develop their speaking and listening abilities.

By having the equipment our students would be able to record their speeches and have then posted on our school's website, where their parents and family members would be able to hear their podcasts.

My students have really enjoyed listening to their friends on their iPods and computers. I have seen a growth in their Language Development through the use of podcasts. Please support us in these times of need.
