Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

We are one of many located in a large area of underprivileged schools. Because of this, we are extremely blessed to have music in our school and much less the resources needed to provide students with a quality music education. Despite our lack of musical resources provided, my students are incredibly eager to learn and master whatever is placed before them. They seek to assist their peers in achieving success as well. Though I have only been at the school for a short period of time, I love my students and I hope to share my love for music education with them for many years! I strive to provide my students with the quality of music education that I received while growing up. I strongly believe that by my students being able to experience as much as they can in music, on top of their present eagerness to learn, they will soar in several other areas of their lives!

My Project

In such a large school where I teach every student, time is of the essence! These chair pocket organizers will maximize music instructional time! Instead of having to pass materials out in class, students areas will be ready when they enter! During my short (seemingly nonexistent) transitional time between classes, I can spend more time focusing on the presentation of the lesson rather than the organization of my materials.

Not only will these chair pockets increase instructional time but they will decrease idle time where students tend to misbehave.

It is every teachers dream to have a well managed classroom and this is part of my steps towards success!
