This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are not able to purchase school supplies and rely on donations. In the past, I have purchased these myself, but with rising costs, I am no longer able to. These children deserve a chance to enjoy the experience of technology.

My school has a caring and dedicated staff and has taken on the challenge of educating the children from the lowest socioeconomic area of our county.

These are intercity children. Our school is in the high ninety percentage for free lunch. We, as staff, have taken on both educational and basic needs from our own pockets and consider it a blessing. We need a little help with the more expensive items.

My Project

Each child will be responsible for the care and maintenance of their earphones. Sometimes accidents happen and wires break so I have ordered a few extras. Some of these will be reused the next school year. We use earphones with classroom computers and computer labs throughout the school day.

We have been blessed with computers but personal earphones are the issue.

We cannot use the computers without them. Since the children cannot afford them and the schools do not provide them, it falls to the classroom teacher. Having their own set provides them with a chance to learn responsibility to care for them.
