My Students

I work with students who have been identified with dyslexia. They come to me for instruction using a therapy program designed to improve reading for students with dyslexia.

These are hard working students who have had their self-esteem beaten up bythe failure they have experienced in the regular classroom.

They excel with technology and have shown remarkable growth with the reading fluency program we have on iPads. We now need working headphones to continue as most of ours don't work.

My Project

Headphones are essential for my students to utilize the fluency program on their Ipads. This program individualizes instruction where students work to improve their reading level. we use two programs in my class to supplement the direct instruction for dyslexia. These Avid Lightweight On-Ear Headphones will give them the privacy they need to work on their reading skills.

One program goes through several steps to increase vocabulary reading fluency, and comprehension.

The other program allows them to choose books at their comprehension level rather than their reading level. This gives them the opportunity to be exposed to reading material at their intellectual level.
