Help me give my students 8 chromebooks to help them engage more in learning reading and math using Lexcia Core 5 and Zearn Math online instruction.

At Centennial Academy we are considered a D school because our Math scores have been flat since 2014 and reading scores since as well, with just a third or so of students performing at a level the state/school defines as “proficient.” Performance gaps between lower-income students, students that are displaced in shelters and their more affluent peers, among other demographic discrepancies, have remained stubbornly wide. It is difficult for me as an Educator to create a STEAM Project Based classroom to help reach my nonreaders with programs such as Lexcia Core 5 and Zearn (Eureka Math) without the proper technology pieces that can grasp the excitement for learning. The students in my classroom are 98% African Americans whom have came from a challenging background. Inorder for all my students to be Successful, challenging their Creative and Critical thinking with Whole Brain instruction is a priority. It is required that I administer quarterly/annual reading and math tests to students but its challenging without the proper tools to help each student in learning how to read fluently.
It's a new year in time in our classroom for 8 new techs to take learning to the next level. Thanks to some updates in technology in our classroom already and to Donorschoose for a next generation fleet of Samsung Chromebook's, which will help optimize learning away from a one size fit all experience amongst classroom instruction for my students.
As an Educator, I've always wanted dependable devices that can enhance learning for my students.
It's not about replacing what is in my classroom, but really augmenting what is in the classroom. With the Chromebook's functionality, students note taking and the tradition of handwritten marks of work can be part of the classroom practices while achieving a paperless environment.
Making learning a more personalized experience has been a popular trend for years. Having Chromebook's is a way to make our classroom open to more students choice and personalization. These Chromebook's will allow me to help my students work at their own pace and see where they might need a little extra help.
As a teacher, I often need the flexibility to differentiate assignments for students based on ability, learning styles, reading levels, etc. Using our classroom Chromebook's would allow for an easy way to assign a reteaching or extension activity for students who are struggling.
