Our students are among the finest musicians in the City of Philadelphia, PA. Our students, ranging from grades 5-12, come from a variety of neighborhoods, ethnicities, cultural traditions, and personal identities, all coming together in an environment where music serves as the catalyst for their learning and is a shared experience and common goal for each of them.
Many of our students come from underprivileged backgrounds where our school becomes the safe home for them.
Our school is greatly underfunded from both the city and the state, and frequently our teachers and parents are forced to pay out of pocket or fundraise in order to purchase the necessary materials (including paper!) to make our school operate. With your assistance, our students will be able to create and perform new musical works all while improving their own musicianship skills.
My Project
Our piano lab allows students to learn keyboarding skills and engage in projects of music production and audio recording. The addition of an audio interface will allow students to interact with different recording software titles by connect their instruments directly into the computer.
An audio interface will also energize the pit orchestra of our musical theater program.
Most shows now call for multiple keyboards to produce unique sounds that fill out the orchestra. This requires a keyboard to connect to a computer that produces the necessary sounds or missing instruments. An audio interface is the device required so that the computer's audio output can communicate with the sound system and heard by the audience.
