My Students

My seventh grade students are a wonderful group of kids that enjoy science, discovery, and experimentation. They are fascinated by the diversity of plants and animals found around the world. Ecology is one of the many life science units we will study during the school year.

My classes include students with a variety of backgrounds, including English learners, GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) and those with special needs.

Our middle school is located in a rural part of central California.

My Project

The Bounty Elite Aerogarden we've requested will enable us to expand our indoor garden and grow our plants to a greater height. These plants are used to support lessons on photosynthesis, food webs, and other concepts important to ecology.

We have several classroom aquariums and are in need of a mini freezer to store and preserve a variety of fish foods.

My students and I raise rainbow trout from eggs. As the eggs hatch and become fry, they require special trout food. It is very important that this food be kept in a freezer. We also have bloodworms, beef heart and krill that must also be kept frozen.
