My students need OPTIONS! They are very active four/five year olds. Younger students should NEVER be expected to sit for extended periods without some movement. This rug, cushions, and chairs will support the needs of my students.
We are located in Buffalo, NY. Our school district has a rate of 82% economically disadvantaged children. Students in our school receive free breakfast and lunch. I anticipate having 21 to 25 students in my classroom this year.
Kindergarten is by far the BEST grade to teach!
Kindergarten students need choices in their everyday learning.
They need room to stretch and furniture that supports the movement that some of their bodies are constanly in. I work in a wonderful comunity. My students are very enthusiastic and are very eager to participate.
My Project
Flexible seating options allows students the choice to sit where they will work to the best of their abilities independently. It is not reasonable to expect Kindergarten students to sit at one spot all day long.
Kids NEED to Stretch Out!
The rug will provide my students with a comfy place to stretch out and use clipboards or lap desks to complete thier work. The wobble chairs will be beneficial for my students who like to stay in motion. The cushions can be used for those who may want to sit in a corner and work alone or in pairs.
The floor chair and inflatable cushions are lightweight and can be used throughout the rooms well.
I have seen firsthand how beneficial this can be for students.
