My Project

My project supports students that are behind their peers in their reading development due to the impact of COVID-19 on their learning. I am a reading specialist who also took on the role of EL (English learners) site lead and teacher. Coming out of this pandemic, I know the need students have to be able to access learning using multi-sensory experiences.

My goal with this project is to develop and find new ways to reach my students, both academically and emotionally.

I have students that don't speak any English, students growing in their English proficiency, and students that are at least one grade level in reading below their peers. Not only that, I teach all grades K-5, EVERY DAY! I hope by asking for a mixture of necessary technology, games, multi-sensory experiences, and incentives, I can help students remember what school was like before the pandemic.
