Do you remember being in class and having that urge to create something? Do you remember not having the materials that you desired? My students are all different, so they need differentiation.
My students are seventh graders coming to junior high for the very first time.
They are a diverse group in need of having their learning styles met. I have not met my students, but have heard many great things about them. All my students' parents do not have the means to provide all the supplies that they may need, so I know you donating will be a great thing!
My Project
My students will use the requested materials for many things throughout the year. A pencil sharpener will provide a nice, fine point of lead to carry my students' thoughts and knowledge to me. Ten sets of markers will help my students to complete science integrated art assignments. Other art supplies will allow students' learning and creativity to blossom. These items will also allow students to show me what they have learned.
I think we all remember a time or two of not being able to understand a concept because the only way we were taught was through direct teaching.
I want to provide my students with a chance to enhance their learning by creating an environment that allows learning through creativity. Thank you so much for helping this first year teacher and the students!
