Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
For years our school has taken pride in producing a musical. Several years ago our drama teacher was displaced and that put an end to our stage productions. Lucky for us our very supportive principal hired a wonderful drama teacher who will again lead our Performing Arts Department in a Musical
Our students are a great bunch of super creative performing artists.
They live for this. Every day they come in ready to get going and to bring all that they have to our Performing Arts Department. They are really excited that we have a new Drama teacher and that all of our students in Dance, Band, Stagecraft, and Drama will unite to put on a Spring Musical this year. It has been quite a few years since we did a full length musical with all of the Performing Arts Department. Last year we did a few small shows but this year we are all ready to make it happen. We are ready for the challenge and for the rewards that come with all of the hard work.
My Project
We are requesting an LED Wash Light and Cables to use in our spring musical. These are essential for the students to be well lit while speaking, dancing, and singing in our large auditorium. The ones we have are old and unreliable. They cannot be counted on for a smooth running performance. Due to the drastic budget cuts that have ravaged our program these past few years we have no funding for any equipment, materials or supplies this year. It would mean so such to every student in our program to have the use of this much needed lighting equipment.

This lighting equipment is so essential as the actors and singers need to be seen in well designed lighting for the audience to have a full enjoyment of our performances.
