This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are some of the most amazing young people on this planet. However, many come to school uninterested in the institution of school. I have found that the arts and ceramics in particular can be the hook that gets young people excited about school. "Art is the hammer that shapes our reality."

Many of my students come from extreme poverty.

My students come from a diverse background. I have found that once my students are given a chance and a hook that gets them involved, they can do anything.

My Project

My students need glaze to finish their amazing clay projects. Many schools have no problem getting supplies because they have more resources. My budget for supplies is virtually nonexistent. What your donation will do is help bring a student's art work alive. The small amount of glaze will help to inspire and change young people's lives. Your donation could be the difference between a young person getting involved and excited about learning or falling through the cracks of society.

Bing able to glaze their ceramics work will give students a sense of pride and self worth.

I have seen how a single project can change a young persons life for the better. Your small donation can be the catalyst that changes a young student's life forever.
