Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My classroom pencil sharpener is broken! We need a new heavy duty pencil sharpener to help us be prepared for the California State Writing test and ready to work on classroom assignments.
Because of financial difficulties, our class pencil sharpener is pretty much out of commission, and there are not funds available to purchase a new one.
I am just trying to help give my students a fighting chance with their education. Help us change that in my classroom. I am a 4th grade teacher in a Title 1 school in California. Most of my students are low income and are part of the free or reduced lunch program. My school is now a Program Improvement school with hard working students. The students have learned to do the best that they can with their limited resources however, having a lack of sharpened pencils makes doing classwork difficult. We need your generous help to help us have sharpened pencils.
My Project
My students need a Heavy Duty X-Acto Pencil Sharpener to help us prepare our pencils for lots of writing. I have a fabulous group of 4th graders that love to write. But it seems that they spend a lot of time trying to find a sharpened pencils. Since our pencil sharpener in our classroom isn't working properly, then they have to run out to other rooms to use theirs. This is sad, because, we use many pencils each day!
Having a sharp pencil will give us more time for writing and other classroom activities that require a pencil.
We won't have lines at the pencil sharpener. Please help us "save our pointless pencils."
