Our PreK-8 is not only my school of employment, but also my alma mater. As a Title I school in a rural area, we face funding issues. We're always looking for unique fundraising opportunities to give our students the resources they deserve.
My Project
I would like to help students create their own fundraising means! Our school has been searching for unique fundraiser opportunities and I would like to use these materials to make a student centered one! I will teach students to use the Cricut Maker, the vinyl, and the crafting blanks, in order to create unique, student-crafted units available for public purchase. The funds from purchase will go back to our school, funding incentives, programs, and more books! It will also provide students who may have a crafting machine available at home, the knowledge of how to appropriately use it to create unique designs. We live in a rural community and a crafting machine is often used as a means for income in some households, as we have opportunities available to us for craft fairs in the next town over! The availability of a Cricut, and the materials, at school, will empower students to design and create things that support and fund their education. It will teach them the value of a dollar and the work that goes into creating things the public will want to purchase. Please consider helping us "Maker" our fundraising dreams a reality!
