My students need supplies to help with interventions. We also have had many sick students, which is why we could use items like Clorox wipes and Kleenex.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My school is a Title One School in Milwaukee's largest school district. Our school serves a population of students in which 97% fall below the poverty level. We offer free breakfast and free lunch to all students every day. The students come from impoverished backgrounds and I look for ways to provide more hands-on, engaging learning activities. My students come to school knowing that my classroom is a safe place to learn and explore.
The students in my class are a smart bunch of kids who come from environments that cannot always provide them with equal opportunities.
With these projects, the students will be able to explore their learning and knowledge in a hands-on way.
My Project
We need extra help keeping our classroom germ free. We have had a lot of sick kiddos this school year. We try and keep our classroom clean; however, we are out of supplies.
Please help me provide the necessary resources my students need to help with viruses!
We only receive one box of tissue each month, which we use very quickly. We need facial tissue boxes. My second-graders are very good at washing their hands; however, we need anti-bacterial hand gel that might help fight off viruses. (Especially after they sneeze into their hands and want to touch everything!) Germ-X Hand Sanitizer will help! We will also Clorox Wipes to disinfect our classroom. My students eat breakfast in our classroom. We need paper towels to clean up after they are finished eating.
In addition, there are a few items that my students need to help with our interventions. Name Plate Display trays are helpful to hold letters when we are making words. Write and Wipe Student Numbers Lines are a great tool to assist when we are working on math interventions. Thin-Lined Markers will be needed with the number lines. My classroom is quite small. A Lapboard Stand will assist at my small table to display the whiteboard I am using at that time.
