Mrs. Weeks from Ozark AL is requesting classroom basics through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need sharpened pencils in order to be ready for learning! Electric pencil sharpeners would great impact our classroom.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
Our school is in southeast Alabama and is home to approximately 550 students. The majority of our students are from single-parent homes. Sixty-eight percent of the students that attend our Title I school are part of the free or reduced lunch program. I teach 55 wonderful students the subjects of science and mathematics. These students work very hard and enjoy coming to school each day. I strive to facilitate lessons in my classroom that will not only teach them much needed lifelong skills, but will also be fun and engaging. Is is often a challenge to receive help with classroom supplies with the allocations that teachers are given for supplies each year and many of my students are unable to bring supplies. We are very thankful for any help we receive. This year, we are in great need of new electric pencil sharpeners.
Three new electric pencil sharpeners would greatly impact the management and preparation of my students for learning.
It's time to learn and we have dull pencils and broken sharpeners! As any teacher or student know, this is ultimate chaos to start the day. I am asking for three electric pencil sharpeners for our classroom. Our old sharpeners have well served my class for five years and no longer are functionable.
This project would greatly impact the overall management of our class.
My students are eager to learn and the lack of being prepared with sharp pencils shouldn't get into their way. We are thankful for pencil donations this year from local community friends, but are in desperate need of sharpening them!
