My students need building blocks, reading games, and organizers for their magnetic words!

"View stumbling blocks as stepping stones to the stars." My students are extremely active, kinesthetic learners. I teach students with special needs who are in kindergarten. It's important to develop social, creativity, and problem solving skills along with their academics.
My students attend school in an urban school district in New York State.
Almost all of our student population comes from low income families. One hundred percent of our students receive free lunch. I teach students with special needs. My students have unstable lives outside of school and often are not able to experience any new situations. I try to provide everything that I possibly can, within my budget, for my students. I want them to be able to have the same education as any other student. My students require hands-on activities and are constantly on the go. They need different ways to learn, as not one child learns the same way. They love to manipulate items and be moving- it makes learning more fun and rewarding for them!
My students need building blocks to develop their creative minds. My students will utilize the blocks during unstructured free time. The blocks will help promote their self confidence, their problem solving skills, and their creative thinking skills. They will be able to work with peers or work on their own. Students love to see success. They love to be involved hands-on and create their own inventions. We can also use the blocks during academic teaching times. They are several different uses: Math - counting, sorting, making patterns. The Launch and Learn game will make learning their basic reading skills fun! Most of my kids have no idea of the alphabet or of the sounds they make. I need to engage them as much as possible! The magnetic organizers will help them stay organized as they build their sentences using magnetic words. My students will build their self confidence and learn how to build their creative/thinking skills.
If you choose to donate to my project, you will be benefiting the lives of inner city, low poverty children who don't get a lot of play experiences outside of school.
They need the solid base for reading to be successful in school and life. I always try to provide everything I possibly can within my budget for my students! I don't want them to be missing any young childhood experiences that could help shape their future. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting my students.
