Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember what it was liked to be picked on in school? Well, we are changing that at our school! We started an anti bullying movement called Peace Builder and I want to educate my students on proper behavior in and out of school.

My students are mainly English language learners which means they are visual learners.

I want to educate them by showing them pictures and have them read about why bullying is wrong. My students have language barriers and parents who have difficulty teaching them these necessary skills in life. I want to make sure that they are taught why bullying is definitely wrong and how they should handle situations if they arise.

My Project

My students want to learn about bullies but they need incentives so I put together an anti bullying committee to come up with incentives to get rid of bullying, harassing, and promote just all around good behavior. The Anti Bully committee requested a DJ party at the end of the month for those who agreed to the terms set by myself and the committee. We are going to read the stories from bullying in schools from Townsend press and at the end of the month whichever students participate in the anti bullying movement will be allowed to participate in the DJ party. By receiving the bullying in school books and the DJ equipment we will continue to remove the current bullying problem at our school.

My project is so important because it will not only help my students learn about bullying, but it will change the community.

We have an excessive bullying problem at my school and I want to educate the children so they learn about a better way to live and a better way to treat neighbors in the community where they live. An incentive program such as a dance will bring the kids together and teach them to get along as a class and as individuals.
