Please Help Our Model UN Team Attend a Conference!
My students need funding to register for our first Model UN Conference! Conferences are the goal for any Model UN Team, but we have been unable to go because of cost.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Please help us attend a Model UN Conference! My students are engaged, hard-working, and enthusiastic members of our school's Model UN Team. They have worked hard over the past three years to form our team, but have not been able to attend a conference because of the high cost of registration.
My students are from low-income, ethnically diverse homes.
They are highly motivated to do well in school, attend college, and become successful and productive members of society. Most challenge themselves to take Advanced Placement classes and apply for internships outside of school. They are diligent workers, and committed to the Model UN Team. However, their economic disadvantages sometimes prevent them from achieving their goals. Our inability to attend Model UN Conferences is an example of this.
Our school is located in an urban area, and the students that attend are very diverse. They come from all walks of life, and this offers them a balanced perspective on society that is very useful in participating in the Model UN.
My Project
I am asking for funding so that my students can attend our first Model UN Conference. Conferences allow students to interact with peers from different schools, demonstrate their understanding of world events, develop empathy for global issues, and place themselves in the shoes of other people around the world. Students that participate learn public speaking, research, and argument skills. They learn to work cooperatively with their team mates, as well as to disagree in a productive manner with opposing teams.
Your contribution is important because it will allow disadvantaged students the opportunity to participate in this challenging and prestigious event.
