Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are hardworking, sweet, and enthusiastic young adults. Their disabilities range from Down syndrome, autism, mental retardation, and cerebral palsy to multiple health impairments. Their ages range from 18-22 years.
My students go to a vocational high school and are on an alternate life skills curriculum.
This year, they are taking my Independent Living Skills strand to expose them to functional skills lessons to be successful in the community and at home. Hopefully, these skills will enable them to participate in a competitive pay position or at a sheltered work program in a customer service industry.
We are a Title I school, and most of my students qualify for the free lunch program.
My Project
Please help purchase uniforms for my Kodiak Kinko's business office strand. The aprons will supplement our current uniforms which are coats that are uncomfortable and hot. Sometimes, they get musky on a hot day and worse when the school's on-site washer and dryer are out.
You need to look good to feel good!
The cleaning rags will help the Kodiak Housekeepers in my independent living strand do their work. We need to replace the stained ones that we currently use. Thank you for your help!
