Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school, which is a magnet school focusing on language arts and social justice, emphasizes the respect of self and others. This encompasses discipline and high expectations as well as activism and compassion. The kids know they will be Agents of Change and follow our school motto, "Be the change you want to see in the world."
We are classified as a "highest poverty" school and the kids at our school are brilliant and they deserve excellent educational resources.
Although my kids may lack financial resources, they have an incredible work ethic and desire to learn. We are a full Title I school; a vast majority of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunches.
My students may lack the material privileges that other American children are fortunate to have, but they certainly make up for it with talent, fortitude, and sheer intelligence. We live in a world where our youth are simply not provided with enough quality resources to shine; your donation will make the dream of a bright future come true.
My Project
I love these sturdy collage pots for my students! They combine art with helping students become green! I have plenty of succulents in my garden that they can put in these adorable pots after they decorate them. Each pot is made of sturdy paper mache. They are perfect for me to teach them the art of collaging. They are a perfect gift for their mothers on Mother's Day or for any holiday! I still have my daughter's pot that she made when she was in elementary school! The other supplies can be used on these pots and also on future art class projects!
