This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students walk into my classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. I ask them, "Who is the best fourth grade class in the whole world?" and they reply, "We are!" I want them to know I believe in them and they can do and achieve anything. Basic supplies are very difficult for my student to buy to keep the learning going.
I teach at a Title I school in Detroit Public Schools where 100 percent of my students receive free breakfast, lunch, and a snack for dinner.
Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful.
My Project
The items listed are just key essential supplies that would allow my students to complete everyday work in the classroom. Ink for our classroom printer which is also used as our copier. Paper to allow me to print copies of worksheets/workbook pages that they do not have. Color paper for me to print out handouts to use for math conversions.
This project will allow them to be able to take worksheets and handouts home to complete and or study from.
These key essential items are not given to my students or the classroom. My students have to rely on me to purchase paper and ink to make copies for them. Please Help !
