This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have a mix of students, everywhere from highest honors to exceptionally challenged. They are very sweet and diligent workers, but as many students, they can be known to struggle with math. They love technology and are definitely 21st century thinkers. Our school is an IB and Magnet school, but not all of the students are in the IB and/or Magnet programs. However, our school treats all our students as IB students and encourages them all to exhibit the IB learner profile traits.
My Project
Thank you for your consideration! The main item I am hoping for is an electronic pencil sharpener. I volunteered to help with an event where I welcomed new students to our school during the summer. When I did, I had to sharpen 15 pencils with the manual sharpener and I ended up removing the skin from two of my fingers (eww!).
I don't want any injuries to my students, so an electric pencil sharpener will really help.
Post-it notes would be great because I can post them on students' desks to let them know about misbehavior and not call them out and embarrass them.
Paper, well, we all need that. I'm trying to limit my paper consumption and save trees, but sometimes paper notes are better for the students than the computer notes. Some students don't have access to computers, plus, some study better using paper notes.
Tissues are a definite necessity due to all the illnesses that go around schools and my students with allergy problems.
Last, but certainly not least, expo markers and erasers. I need those to help teach our children. Again, thank you for your consideration! I hope you can help!
